The Ideal Client

After posting about the challenge of restarting this business I was asked about whether I had any types of companies the I am keen to work with and if I have any particular specialities so this blog entry should go some way to explaining.

I prefer the smaller end of the scale, companies that are under 25 people have often been the most interesting and varied work as they tend to value generalists more. I'm not going to narrow down sector because so many areas can use graphic design and artwork skills at some point but I have worked with those specialising in marketing, pr, advertising, experiential, direct mail, packaging, and retail point of sale.

I can probably help out if there is a requirement to design or finish preparing any graphic related jobs for print. I've worked in lots of different agencies and had all sorts of challenges thrown at me.

One angle I thought of was to be the freelance designer's igor. The super assistant that can take on the leg work whether that's preparing a pile of images from a photoshoot or artworking those signed off designs ready for deliver to the printer or online.

The big challenge for me right now is rebuilding my network as it has always been colleagues or agents recommending me when the opportunity presents itself that has got me working. The game has changed quite a lot since the days of me phoning a handful of agents and getting calls back within a few days with the next assignment.

Anyway, to the CTA, Batman!

Have you got a load of designs that need preparing for print? Do you need a photoshoot retouched? Got too much on and need an experienced assistant?
