Twenty One Years of Megaheadphonica

Album artwork for Twenty One

It's a little odd to think about but something that was started as a side project while working on my design studies degree has become more of a constant than my career. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that the little pixel boy with the giant headphones is now a part of my identity.

I’ve created something close to an album every year since albeit no as regularly. I've learned an enormous amount about the technical side of music production. I started out doing live sound desk and stage set up and brought that knowledge into the studio. Since then I’ve written, recorded, edited, arranged, mixed down and mastered. The full meal from aperitif to digestif.

To celebrate the 21st anniversary of my first productions, I released a twenty one track retrospective compilation earlier this year. You can find it at pretty much all the usual streaming providers. I think it’s a pretty good introduction and has my favourite tracks from nearly all of my releases. The best place to start is at my Linktr.ee page where you’ll find this compilation and videos for the last few releases.

The full catalogue can be found at the Megaheadphoneboy bandcamp page where you can buy some self-produced CDs and cassettes as well as full resolution digital downloads to add to your library. There’s even a few items that are free to download. It may not be to everyone’s taste and some are more abrasive than others but please go and have a listen.

The real wonder of all this though, is that my music has helped to keep my creative flywheel spinning all the way through those periods where, for one reason or another, my graphic design work has been put on hold. It has also provided me with a much wider tool box to offer to my clients now that the market has shifted and the world of print is less important than it used to be.

I’m not just a visual Fuzzball, but an audio Fuzzball too and with that in mind, if you are looking for a production tech, someone to help you get your podcast or video fixed up and sounding sharp, than drop me a line and we can discuss your requirements.
